    Is Love Blind?

    .

    They say love is blind

but I was blind before love

A cloud was a cloud, not an omen

of sadness or a place to retreat

with the one who brought happiness.

The stars were just stars, not a blanket

of gems, or the eyes of the gods singing

    loves requiem

The sun was the sun, lighting each day

not the smile of another who brings love your way

A heart was a heart, pumping blood through your veins

not a thing to be lost as you play your love games

So they say love is blind

    and I must  disagree

    I was blind before love

    but I now clearly see.

  2. Listen.

    thethingsiwriteonhere:

    Can you hear the sound
    Of the future breaking
    Ripping from the present
Like a plaster on your skin?

Feel the tear against your back
As you’re thrown into the cracks
Of things that should have been
Past a life you could have lived.

    The wind blows bitter
    Across the scorch marks
    Raw and smouldering
    Down your wounded back.

And down the valley below your feet
                     Another life begins to bud.
Winds there are calm, the air so sweet,
You close your eyes… and take the jump.

  3. Progression of Insanity.: Countdown to Apocalypse. →

    the-apocalypse-poet:

    welcome to hell

    scrawled in spray paint

    on a broken highway sign

    route 666 indeed

    fall into your well

    the water dripping in pain

    only granting wishes divine

    even god’s can bleed.

    cement ceilings fall

    and the skyscrapers die

cynically rusted world at the end

    the mechanism of all

  4. dmcdougall:

And just like that, the world crumbled.
Somewhere I sat, unsure and jumbled.

You slapped the sky only to implode.
I wrapped this goodbye, and you never showed.

So I walked away as the star was shot,
Met the clock halfway because the rest I forgot.

    -Dylan McDougall

  5. poetictouch:

    Your face fills every crevice

Of my mind, invading every thought.

Remnants of your touch still cling

    On my skin. Phantom caresses

    Hauntingly teasing and torturing.

The taste of your kiss, which once

    Satisfied every craving,

Now lingers bittersweet against my lips.

Your scent crept in with the wind,

    Intoxicating all senses, infiltrating every

    Pore of my soul.

Your voice that once lovingly called

My name now fades with the time,

As I lay here, wasting away.

  6. The Poet Dreamer: Writing the "Perfect" Poem.... →

    poetdreamer:

It’s easy to write the perfect poem, see?
But harder if the subject is about beauty….
No, for your first perfect poem, chose your pains
Reawaken the most painful memory that wanes.
Cut a vein, let the memory flow out in red
Write down every thought from heart to head
    Vilify the darkness that you…

  7. it's only love: where is that? →

    onceuponatime-lahuir-loved:

remember when you tried to woo me, love?
when your only thought in life was to make me thine?
what happened to those furtive looks
that longing that drove you wild
you stopped and started like a broken clock
    retreating fast and attacking quick
the thoughts reflected in your eyes
    they fed…

  8. What do you do?

    imprisonedphilosopher:

    what do you do
when you learn that everything you once knew
was all a lie, and you haven’t a clue
about where to go, about what is true
    well I don’t know
    but take my hand
    and together we’ll discover
    all our heart’s demands
    truth
         love
               life
